The Diamond Blender from KitchenAid has been lovingly put together with more consideration than you may think. With a classic feel to the design that pays homage to KitchenAid’s design roots, but also offers modern touches to make your life that bit easier in the kitchen. They have ensured that the Diamond Blender works very well with hot liquids and thicker sauces, translating to the fact that there are very few tasks that this more compact but mighty blender cannot do. The uniquely designed and patented asymmetrical tri-blade piece that KitchenAid have fitted the Diamond blender with, creates a powerful pulling vortex through the center of the jug from top to bottom ensuring a consistent and smooth texture throughout your blends every time.
The Diamond blender has been named as such due to KitchenAid paying homage to more classic designs from their extensive history and as the shape of the blending container (if viewed from above) is the shape of a diamond. As well as being a nice aesthetic feature, its second purpose is to work in tandem with KitchenAid’s patented asymmetrical blade to ensure that all your ingredients, whether they be for a baby food mix, a soft fruit smoothie or an extra indulgent super thick milk-shake, are pulled into the mixing vortex resulting in silky smooth blends every time. KitchenAid have also extended their design considerations to the lid of the jug, by including their Supertight silicone seal feature which prevents accidental blending disasters, where the lid may pop off and paint your kitchen with your blend. There is also a useful stay-put ingredient measuring cup that is brilliant for adding additional liquids or ingredients to your blend during the process should you need to. An often overlooked key feature included with the Diamond blender is the Intelli-Speed control, where the blender is able to detect how full the blending container is and adjusts the initial or starting blend speed so that you do not develop clumps or lumps of produce/ingredient. The Intelli-speed feature also keeps the lid splash free and works with all pre-set functions. This can also be helpful in keeping more enzymes and healthy elements of your ingredients intact, which would be more beneficial when making baby foods and green smoothies. Finally we have the 6 pre-set blending functions, these make the users life more easy by auto blending hot soups, roughly chopping veg, whisking, crushing ice, grinding and creating green smoothies all with the simple press of a button.
This blender follows the design principle of “Chef blenders” and has a non-intrusive worktop footprint measuring only 23cm across and 21cm deep, yet still packs a powerful and refined 550watt motor which is what gives you the effortless silky smooth consistency every time. KitchenAid have gifted this blender with a full die-cast metal base, which is rarely found on blenders at this price point and adds extra stability during blending. As well as being die-cast, the 6 paint finishes available are all in a lovely satin sheen which is very easy to keep clean but does not require polishing to remove fingerprints or surface smudges. The buttons have also been protected by a handy silicone cover ensuring there is no chance of drips falling between the small gaps and causing issues with functionality later on down the line.
