Excalibur has mastered their drying technology as cool air is drawn in the back, heated, and distributed evenly across each tray. During the dehydration process, warm air removes moisture from foods and is pushed out the front of the dehydrator. The horizontal airflow feature in the Excalibur dehydrator ensures even dehydration and eliminates the need to re-stack trays during the drying process.
Many round dehydrators cannot distribute heat as evenly as Excalibur dehydrators, resulting in a less controlled drying environment, an increase in time to dry, constant maintenance due to frequent tray re-stacking and cleaning due to spillages.
Removable trays let you dehydrate smaller and larger ingredients e.g whole fruits compared to sliced fruits. The flexible mesh inserts are great for sticky foods as they stop anything from getting stuck to the trays and make cleaning that little bit easier. Excalibur has created digital versions of their popular analogue dehydrators, this addition helps to make the process so much easier.
You can now set two time periods with different drying temperatures as the digital controller allows a higher initial temperature for the first part of drying. The second timer can be set at a lower temperature to protect the nutrients once the initial moisture is dried away.
