The Artisan Blender from KitchenAid comes in as the class leader in the more traditionally designed blenders that KitchenAid offer. The classic 1.75L diamond shaped glass blending container adds to the more contemporary aesthetic, but being made from glass, it is intended to be a long lasting and very durable jar that suits all blending tasks. KitchenAid have also included a smaller more personal 0.75L Culinary blending container, designed to be used for those single or smaller portions that you may want to prepare on occasion. Other features added to this great package that pushes it to the front of its class are the Intelli-speed control, the soft start feature and the die cast metal base available in 4 distinct colours.
The Artisan Blender comes with 6 pre-set intelligent blend functions; capable of stirring, chopping, mixing, pureeing, liquifying and crushing ice. The pulse function works in tandem with all 6 pre-set functions and can also be used by itself on a fully manual setting. These settings also act as speed increments and allow you to blend from a range of 4000rpm to 11500rpm, should you require full control over your recipe. As previously mentioned, the Artisan Blender comes inbuilt with Intelli-speed control, this feature allows the blender to monitor the weight and density of the contents inside the blending container and automatically make adjustments to the power of the motor and the rotational speed so as not to overcook the contents inside. This also continues when adding additional ingredients and liquids to your recipes. The soft start feature is another automated function, planned in to make your blending experience more controlled and efficient. It works by sensing the weight within the blending container, whilst also taking into account your pre-set blending option, the Artisan Blender will then start at a much slower rpm to pull ingredients down towards the asymmetrical stainless-steel blades and then boosting up to the recipe required rotational speed. This feature also eliminates initial kick up of ingredients, which can sometimes leave blends with unblended produce or lumps and allows for full hands-free operation, as the machine will always stay safely planted on your worktop. KitchenAid have also included some smaller but carefully considered design touches into the Artisan Blender to ensure it serves you for a long time, for example the control pad on the front of the blender features a fully rounded design and can be wiped over with a damp cloth for super easy cleaning. The lack of edges or corners on this panel prevents foods and liquids from spilling into these gaps and cracks. Finally, we have the inclusion of the 0.75L personal blending container. Designed to perfectly handle individual portions, sauces and smaller quantities, this BPA free container is very durable being both shatter and scratch resistant. There is also a neat little drizzle cap included in the lid, again very useful when adding small amounts of liquid to recipes whilst blending. As with the larger container, spillages and mess are minimised thanks to the secure, twist lock lid with silicone seals.
