The Kuvings KGC712 is a highly versatile smart fermenter packed with features to suit a wide variety of purposes. When used to its fullest, it can produce not only cheese and yoghurt but pickles such as kimchi or homemade vinegar. It can even serve as a slow cooker or prover in certain scenarios.
To achieve incredible results, the Kuvings KGC712 is highly customisable and it can be set to work at temperatures anywhere between 23°C to 70°C. Additionally, the 99-hour timer allows for fine control over the length of fermentation and it will turn the unit off upon completion.
Thanks to these features the KGC712 is incredibly versatile and can be used to make a variety of products from cheeses and yoghurts to raw pickles and vinegar. Plus, the inclusion of a centrifuge lid and filter allows for liquid to drain out of the bowl to create thicker products such as Greek yoghurt or feta.
On top of offering a varied set of functions, the KGC712 is built to last and it is made from a selection of durable food-safe plastics. Additionally, for ultimate safety, the 2-litre fermentation bowls are both made of BPA free plastic, ensuring they won’t leech chemicals even when heated.
Last but not least, the Kuvings KGC712 has been designed with practicality in mind. Its compact form factor makes it easy to fit on most countertops and it can be tucked to the side while it works without being overly obtrusive.
I am a passionate fermenter. Store bought yoghurt generally contains only a few generic strains of bacteria and is fermented for only four hours at 42 degrees celsius . I wanted to ferment specific strains (l.reuteri and L.gasserei) for 36 hours (because bacteria multiplies exponentially and this amount of time produces the maximum good bacteria) at 36 degrees (as hotter will kill these delicate strains) and this is only machine on the market that can ferment for so long so precisely. It’s also handy for other things, vegetables, fast track or precision timing sourdough starter etc. I have bought machines for all my four grown children this Christmas (2023). I am happy to recommend this product.
I have been making Yogurt at home for more than five years. My original equipment is getting worn, so I looked for a replacement. After a lot of searching, I settled on Kuvings KGC712 Greek Yoghurt & Cheese Maker in Silver. It has advantages over my much older machine in several ways. It is bigger, so I can make a litre of yoghurt in one go. The filter arrangement is also big enough to take a litre, whereas my old filter wasn't. The temperature and timing can be set to a much wider range, allowing for some experimentation in the future. The machine can cope with various fermented products, though I have only ever made yoghurt. I guess the other attraction is that it looks elegant. All in all I am very happy with the product
