Juicer Overview

Single Augur Slow Juicing

Operating at a steady speed of 70 rotations per minute, the Omega Sana EUJ-606 uses a single augur mechanism to grind and press ingredients. This combination allows it to successfully extract high juice yields while retaining nutrient levels for vitamin and mineral-rich results.

It is also able to work with and process a wide variety of ingredients including leafy greens, celery, root vegetables and firm fruits. This ensures that it can be of use in many scenarios from meeting the demands of juice enthusiasts through to more casual applications.

Pressure Adjustment Function

In combination with its single augur mechanism, the Sana EUJ-606 has been kitted out with a pressure adjustment nozzle. This allows for a user to vary the pressure level exerted to best suit different ingredient types, maximising yields and nutrient extraction.

Using higher pressure is recommended when working with low yield ingredients such as leafy greens or celery, as it ensures deep juice extraction. However, when working with juice rich ingredients such as apples or oranges, a lower pressure level should be used to avoid a backlog.

Versatile Accessories

Alongside its juicing related features, Sana has also equipped the EUJ-606 with a solid array of accessories. Included among these are a pusher, cleaning brush, juice container and pulp container, but more notably they have also included a blank screen and a selection of accompanying nozzles.

Through the use of this screen, the EUJ-606 can be used for functions beyond just juicing, allowing it to mix and mash ingredients instead. As a result, it can be used to produce a range of foods such as pasta, breadcrumbs, sorbet and nut butter to name a few.

High-Quality Materials

Beyond its flashier features, the Sana EUJ-606 is also built to an brilliant standard from a range of high-quality durable materials. Through a combination of stainless steel and hard-wearing BPA-free plastics such as Tritan and Ultem, it offers plenty of durability against the pressure exerted during the juicing process.

Practical Design

To round out the package it offers, the Omega Sana EUJ-606 has been designed with both style and practicality in mind. Featuring a large handle, its easy to carry and move around, yet the handle doesn’t detract from its aesthetic and has been shaped and styled as part of the body’s character.

    Just What I Wanted

After spending a fair bit of time learning about the multitude of Juicers , I decided on the Sana 606 which is basically the EU version of the USA’s Omega NC800/NC900. I mainly juice leafy greens and celery. The pulp for kale comes out very dry. It is also very good with carrots and apples if you rotate the produce as you juice. (Thank you John Koehler). I nearly bought the Green Star Elite as you get a slightly better yield but the clean-up in the 606 is easier and I didn’t want something that ugly sitting in my kitchen

Omega Sana EUJ-606 - a great upgrade from high-speed juicers

We sprung for this model after a LOT of online research, so kudos to Juicers.co.uk's great website, which is one of the best online shopping websites I've seen - really clear pictures and differentials with other models (esp. the videos linked from juicers.eu) and a lot of help for buyers (including simply not stocking the rubbish machines!). The juicer market is overloaded with expensive machines, all of which seem to perform to a similar high standard, but the EUJ-606 seemed to be able to take most things you can throw at it and had lots of additional functions such as pasta/noodle making and an adjustable pressure dial, while remaining at a reasonable price. I was sorely tempted by the Angel's all-stainless steel construction and beautiful engineering but oh, the price! Given that we're replacing a 20-year-old Braun centrifugal juicer I figured anything recent would be an improvement. I was doubtful of the plastic construction, but when the machine arrived (a day or so after ordering) it was nicely packaged and the plastic auger really is incredibly tough, while the transparent housing is made out of the same stuff as my Magimix processor bowl. The quality of the machine is immediately apparent, with metal inserts in the filter bit where it is subjected to most pressure from the juicing process and silicone seals. Weirdly the end caps screw on counter-clockwise, kind of counter-intuitive, but it's something I can live with. Once it was set up we tried it with some windfall apples and a few carrots. The first impression is it is so quiet! Compared to the high-speed Braun, it quietly munches through everything you put into it with no fuss at all. I thought the slow speed and narrow tube would be a problem, but not at all - our previous machine actually had a smaller tube and took just as long to process an apple. And the quality of the juice is immeasurably better, not brown and sludgy, while the waste coming out of the end is almost completely dry. We quickly started juicing all sorts of things with no problem - the quantities listed in the recipe book Juicers.co.uk included with the machine are a useful reference to avoid the slightly spicy juice we got when we chucked in a whole root of ginger! One word of warning though, it doesn't really do well with overripe fruit or particularly juicy fruits like oranges - lacking any fibrous bits the fruit tends to form into a pulp in the machine and there is nothing for it to get a purchase on. You are not supposed to run the machine for more than half an hour without letting it cool down thoroughly, but this was not a problem as it didn't take nearly that long to make a large jug of juice, enough for the family. Pretty quickly we got into making fresh pasta and noodles - the machine works a treat for this as long as the dough is the right dryness, and the fresh pasta is a real treat and far less hassle than those hand-cranked pasta makers you can get. Haven't tried it for nut butters or coffee yet, but having seen it in action I am confident it will perform well. I daresay before too long we will be getting the seed oil extractor too... So to sum up, it's a great juicer, made of quality materials, which will extract pretty much all the juice out of most things you can feed into it. Compared to the sort of machines you get from regular appliance stores the difference is like night and day and it's well worth the extra money.
